Summer has just begun, and many wonderful photographers and videographers may be looking for the perfect place to film or shoot. Here at Lewisham film office, we have put together a list of places we think would be perfect this summer for all your projects.
Beckenham Place Park | Ref 31745
Starting off strong at number 1, we have Beckenham Place Park. Renowned for its beautiful view and wide range of facilities. Beckenham place park is the largest green space in Lewisham with 96 hectares of grassy meadows, gardens and woodlands. Aside from its greenspace, it also features a medieval style mansion, a café and arts, cultural and community centre, a large lake, 2 play areas, a BMX track and a skate park. Mountsfield Park is in the backstreets of Catford; near the South Circular. It is a beautiful park with large green space and beautiful gardens. It has views over Catford and Crystal Palace. Other facilities it includes are a play area, ball court, outdoor gym and ornamental garden. It was once host to Lewisham’s people’s day which was an annual festival celebrating Lewisham’s culture which featured live music, pop-up stalls and activities for children.
Somerset Gardens is a quiet Cul-de-sac located in Lewisham. It has various Edwardian/Mid 19th century houses. They surround an oval shaped green space. On the North-side, the houses are terraced with decorative iron fencing on the inset balconies. The South-side features detached houses with decorative iron fencing leading stairs.
Blackheath Common located on the boundary of Lewisham and Greenwich borough and is jointly managed by both boroughs. It is one of the largest areas of common land in London at 85.58 hectares, it features mostly dry lowlands and a large duck pond. It is host to Blackheath fun fair which happens annually in mid-spring.
This mews is set in the heart of Lewisham, near Deptford. It offers a great period location that is perfect for filming and shoots. It is a controllable pedestrianised area that has Victorian bricked fonts and large bay windows.
